Tutorial: Tea Time

This felt tea bag and frosted sugar cookie (with sprinkles!) set is so easy even a beginner sewer can whip one out in an hour or less. They make lovely gifts for little ones and will be lovely for play tea times.

Cut out all of your pieces, using the patterns as guides.DSC_0010

Whipstitch the frosting piece to one piece of the cookie (I decided to make my cookie dark chocolate).DSC_0012 DSC_0013

Whipstitch the heart to the tea tag.DSC_0021

Embroider the word “tea” or any word you want onto one piece of the tea bag.DSC_0016

Then blanket stitch the two pieces of the tea bag together.DSC_0017

I left a 5 inch or so piece of floss hanging from the top and stitched this to my tea tag, to attach the two together.DSC_0018 DSC_0019 DSC_0020

Then blanket stitch the tea tag pieces together.DSC_0022

Add some embroidered sprinkles to the cookie frosting.DSC_0023

Put your two pieces of cookie together, wrong sides together, and blanket stitch the cookie closed. Just before you reach where you started, put a little stuffing in so your cookie is plump. Stitch closed.DSC_0025 DSC_0026
