St. Valentine’s Day Crafting

valentines4The kiddo participated in a Valentine swap and made the cutest bunny themed valentines. He stitched hearts on this free printable bunny I found online, and then watercolor painted some watercolor paper with warm colors. Once it dried, he cut out hearts and then wrote “Some bunny thinks you’re special.” We love a good pun. The hearts hang down from the stitched bunnies.

While he was sewing, he said, “Magic happens when you cross stitch.” Be still, my crafty mom heart.

We also had some fun painting doilies for a garland.

We put the doilies on a piece of watercolor paper before we started painting, and when we picked up the doilies after they were painted, we had this beautiful design. It is the perfect background for a St. Valentine’s Day poem or verse.valentines3

Here’s our finished bunting, hung on cotton yarn.valentines8

I love simple, easy crafts that turn out pretty. We also printed some lovely Saint Valentine related crafts to do, too (thank you, Catholic Icing blog!).
