Valentine Crafting: Homemade Crayons

We have done some fun valentine crafting recently. One of our recent (and frequent) snowy afternoons, we made homemade crayons. This is a great way to use up broken crayon pieces or just to do something new with the flood of crayons we seemed to be drowning in.  Just peel the paper off, break them into little pieces, and put the pieces in a mini muffin tin or other pan (we used a silicone heart shaped one and also a mini muffin tin that we put muffin liners in first). Then pop them in the oven and let them melt, checking on them periodically (I did 180 degrees F for 15-20 minutes).heart crayons mini muffin crayons valentine package

We also made these doily & watercolour painted heart garlands for a kids’ valentine swap.

And I’ve got this St. Valentine colouring page set aside for the little guy to colour on Saturday. How about you? Any handmade valentine crafts?
