Thank you to everyone who entered my lunch bag pattern giveaway! The random number generator picked comment 9, so Patty is our winner (I just emailed you Patty so get in touch with me if you didn’t receive it)! Thanks for all of the great comments. Virginia’s lunch bag patterns are still on sale through the end of the month– and she is making a donation to No Kid Hungry for every one sold– so be sure to grab yours! It is the perfect project for back-to-school sewing.
In other news, I have been working on some new art. I drew templates for various wood shapes and then my son’s lovely godfather cut them out of wood for me. After some sanding, I wood-burned an abstract pattern on one side and a favourite quote or scripture verse on the other. Then I painted them with watercolour. I might still seal them with something (not sure what… I am open to suggestions. I don’t want them too shiny). These are two of the ones I have made. I’ve made some others that have leaves on one side instead of abstract shapes, which you can see a teeny corner of in one of the photos.
This is the back and bottom of the red, orange, black one:
They feel lovely to hold and would be beautiful on a desk or shelf.
