My mom celebrated a milestone birthday recently (click here for party details found on my elder sister’s blog), and my sisters decided to give her an iPad mini. (Let’s just say she was delighted by this. Who wouldn’t be?) I stitched her up a case for her new techno gadget using an Anna Maria Horner fabric (same one I accented my ballet bag with) and a super soft blue flannel for the lining. I forgot to get a picture of it all done, but here’s an in-progress shot.
I also made my mom a scarf for her birthday, using a 100% cotton jersey olive green fabric and a too-cool-for-words Liberty of London Tana Lawn. Here are the two fabrics:
The scarf sewn (yes, these pictures look very similar. Look closely and you can see the stitching):
Here’s a not good picture of me wearing the scarf. Maybe I should have smiled. Or at least cleaned the mirror.
The Tana has the most amazing silky soft drape to it, which is why I paired it with the cotton jersey. It feels super lush to wear.
(I’m going to use these two fabrics to make myself a scarf. One is a Liberty Tana, the other a 100% cotton jersey.)
I also made her a tea themed embroidery wall hanging, but I forgot to take a picture. I know, I was really falling down on the job as a blogger.
