I recently did a really fun swap with a Waldorf group I belong to on Facebook. The theme was “Winter Nature Table,” which was perfect because I am just getting into doing a nature table (or windowsill, in our case, since space is at a premium in our tiny house). Each participant made six things– five for other moms and one for the hostess. I made a little wooden cardinal, winter-colored mini play silk, and painted cardstock that I printed a cardinal poem on.
This was my first time woodburning, but I think they came out really sweet. I love the heart on the back of each one. The play silks I labelled a different wintery name, like First Frost and Crisp Snow Morning.
Here is what I received back! A little gnome and tree, a woodburned winter scene “postcard”,
a wood snowy owl (which is being saved for my son’s stocking),
a garland of beeswax and oranges (smells amazing!),
and a window star!
Such simply lovely items, I am so glad I could participate. Here is everything in place:
(those are angel stuffies I made which will at some point show up in my Etsy shop)
We’ve added a couple other things, too, and it looks very festive and wintery. Do you have a nature table or seasonal display?
