When I saw the name of the blog hop, I knew I had to use the fun retro Santa fabric that I have been holding onto. I decided to pair it with a lime green fabric in my stash and make a wall hanging. The words are felt appliques I cut and sewed on. Then I had some fun adding quilting stitches!
The back has top corner pockets to hold a dowel for hanging. I like how the little triangles of cheery red polka dot fabric pop off of the grey flannel backing fabric.
I am looking forward to hanging this one up in my house this Christmas season!
I also made this wintery table runner.
I’ve been in a hexagon mood lately (yup, I am looking forward to the hexie blog hop!), so I did some large hexies from a fabric my sister picked up for me a few months ago. It is a winter forest scene with lots of cute forest animals. After attaching the hexies together, I appliqued them to a linen fabric I picked up from my church’s thrift shop (a huge piece for only $3!), then added some complementary quilting stitches. I did linen for the back, too (and I still have tons left).
Now for the giveaway!
To enter to win a Christmas themed assortment of fabric scraps and cuts, just leave me a jolly comment (and your contact info) on this post. The giveaway is open until Friday August 9th (the last day of the hop) and I will announce the winner on Saturday August 10th.
