Here’s one of my previously scheduled posts for you, of a project I finished last week:
I am participating in a summer themed embroidery swap. To me, lightning bugs say summer like nothing else. I have many fond childhood memories of chasing after twinkling fireflies in the summer twilight. I found this pattern that I altered slightly, then added this poem. I used silver sparkly thread for the lightning bugs, which twinkle nicely when the light hits them.
I finished it off with some half square triangles and corners for hanging on the back.
Look at this– I made it match from front to back. Very proud of myself.
My recipient is a sewer and has two kids, so I am also sending her my tea time mouse stuffies to make.
I hope she likes everything!
