Did I already show you these? I can’t remember, but I don’t think so. I made the Wee One a couple handmade things for his birthday, plus we gave him some mini super hero figures that came with a book and play mat.
I bought a fun larger-scale super hero fabric that I cut around a couple figures, paired them with a backing fabric, and stuffed them to make mini pillows. The Wee One particularly likes Captain America and Spiderman, so those are the two I made.
I made a lovely super hero placemat with two matching cloth napkins for him. He loves eating with this new addition to the table decor!
And here’s the cake I made: dark chocolate cake with chocolate whipped creme frosting.
Oh. my. heavens. The frosting was amazingly delicious. All you do is heat (just to simmering) 2 cups of heavy cream. While that is heating, put 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips in a heat proof bowl. Once the cream is heated, pour it over your chips and let sit for a minute. Whisk and all your chocolate melts. Add 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla. Refrigerate it for a couple hours so it is thoroughly chilled. Then just use your stand mixer to turn that cream into thick whipped cream and frost your cake! It is so yummy.
PS: See that blue vase in the corner of the last picture? That is a vase my Lovely One gave me when our son was born. It has a tag on it that says “It’s a boy!” This year it reappeared filled with gorgeous tulips!
