Valentine’s Day Crafts

Remember the sneak peek I showed you of the Valentine’s projects the kiddo and I were working on? All gifts have been delivered, so I can do the grand reveal… handmade tote bags and a long-sleeve t-shirt!

We used corks (thanks to my Gram who gave me a bunch in my Christmas bag of crafty things present!) and fabric paint. I have seen projects where you use pencil erasers in paint to create designs (and actually did a pointillism project that way with kids I taught), but my Wee One is 3 and would lose interest with how long that would take. The corks are the perfect size to get the same effect (on a larger scale) and still keep him engaged the whole time.

I drew a heart on the tote bags with fabric paint, then the Wee One went to town stamping dots!

We also made a shirt for one of the Wee One’s favorite people, the mom of one of his friends. He used to call her Lada instead of Holly because of pronunciation issues, and she liked having her own special name (even if unintentional). So we made her a personalized shirt using her favorite color, green. (She has a fun blog with her baking adventures and toddler projects here.)DSC_0017 DSC_0027

We will probably make some cards, too, just not sure what type. This means I will probably have to “force” myself to spend a little time on Pinterest!
