I participated in this handmade swap with a Valentine’s focus. This swap was a little different than the others I have done in that I was in touch with my swap partner the whole time. Mary lives in Oklahoma and has what sounds like a lovely family full of bustling grandkids! She loves to craft, particularly cross-stitch and sewing. We had some lovely email chats as we got to know one another a bit, and then this week I received my package from her! (She hasn’t received mine yet– maybe it will come today!– so I can’t tell you about that yet.)
Here’s what I saw when I opened the box:
What a nifty bag! After I received it, I asked Mary what the pattern was called and she said it is a humbug bag. I found a couple tutorials by googling the name, like this one. So cool! I love the dot fabric. Mary wrapped everything in tissue paper and numbered it, so I opened all the goodies in an order.
I was lucky enough to receive some of her cross-stitching:
Some cute cards:
This kitchen towel, which she sewed heart fabric to. I love it! The fabric is sweet and the towel is absorbent. Perfect!
Mary has been having lovely weather. It was even in the 70s one day. I have been having freezing cold weather. Single digits or low teens, on average. Mary took pity on me and my horribly cold weather and sent me two pairs of fuzzy pink socks to keep my toes warm!
And a pincushion, made from fabrics she thought I would like (and I do!):
So fun! I hope she likes what I sent her. I tried to pick colors and things we had talked about, so hopefully she does.
