Chevron Block Project

Remember how I told you I was participating in the Chevron Block Sewalong? I thought the deadline was today, the 31st… turns out it was the 29th. Oops. I didn’t have time to make a whole table runner like I wanted to, but I did do a couple chevron blocks and turned one of them into… a zipper pouch! (Yes, my current go-to thing to make. I want to perfect my technique before moving on to something else.) I did a chevron block on one side, then stripes with the same fabrics on the other side because I liked the way the two look together, especially when the top of the bag is folded down (which I will do when I tuck it under my arm as I run out the door). I also did some hand embroidery, boxed corners, and lined the bag with the cheery golden yellow fabric so it is like opening a door on sunshine when you unzip the bag.

chevron bag

I think I am actually going to keep this bag for myself! Shocker, since I usually give away or sell everything I make, but I really love this bag.

Did you complete a chevron project? I am still going to make a table runner at some point this year, too.
