Mmm! Cake Pops

My Gram gave me a cake pop machine for Christmas, so the Wee One and I tried it out today. It is made by the Keebler elves, so you know anything that comes from it must be tasty. We certainly weren’t disappointed!

We used funfetti cake mix (my Gram had given it to me), crushed up chocolate biscuit cookies, and finely chopped mint chocolate truffle Hershey kisses in our batter. The batter has to be thicker than usual– a lot thicker. Then you just fill the bottom half of the cake pop machine, close the lid, and let bake for 5 minutes. Voila! Cake pops. (Warning– they come out of the machine REALLY hot.)

We left some plain and also dipped some in melted chocolate. They are pretty tasty, and I like the pop of mint you get every couple bites.

    • I don’t think I would have ever bought one, but it has made for a fun present! The only thing I don’t like about it (as much as one dislikes a machine that makes little spheres of cake) is that I wish it made slightly smaller cake pops. But that is a minor complaint.
