We’ve had a good (albeit busy) last few days as the summer winds down. Sunday we went to the Sacandaga River for some quiet outdoor time, swimming, and nature walks. It was so beautiful, but since I forgot my camera you’ll have to take my word for it. The Sacandaga River is one of my favorite places in the Adirondacks. We used to camp there when I was a kid, so I have lots of happy memories there; now I enjoy taking the Wee One there for him to make his own happy memories. He had such fun running around, looking for animals, and collecting leaves, acorns, and pinecones. Here is a little sampling of some of the nature goodies we gathered.
I would love to have a whole Nature Table, but our house is too small for that, so we are going to have a Nature Windowsill out in my studio. That is where this little bowl of beauties sits.
Monday we (even the Eldest! He was off from work so all three boys were with us) went to Massachusetts to the Mohawk Trail State Park. It was another gorgeous, fun day! This time I brought my camera and took lots and lots of pictures. For some bizarre reason, though, my camera ate 98% of them. giant sigh.
Other than that, I have been busy updating my website (please check it out and let me know what you think!),
playing “Guess Who?” over and over and over again with the Wee One (he doesn’t quite get this game and often shows his opponent his secret guy when he is asked a question about what his figure looks like),
finishing up my dot block for the Quilt Block Blog Hop,
and finished a custom embroidered pin a lovely customer of mine ordered.
Lots of joyful moments, both all as a family and alone.
