Funky Fiber Beads Tutorial & Giveaway!

**The giveaway is now closed! Thanks for entering! I randomly picked a comment and the winning comment is from RaeAnna!

Looks like RaeAnna is a crafty, sewing mom, too! Check out her blog. RaeAnna, I just sent you an email. If you didn’t receive it, just send me a message (featheredneststudio [at] gmail [dot] com) with your mailing address and I will get your goodies out to you! Congrats, and thanks again to everyone who entered! Thanks, too, for all the nice comments about my mom and her art! She is definitely super talented, I agree. (But no, she doesn’t have her own blog, to answer someone’s question. Maybe I can get her to post regularly on mine to share some of her artsy self with you!)

I have more giveaways lined up in the near future, too, so stay tuned.**

Check out this new tutorial to make your own funky fiber beads, courtesy of my mom!  Also courtesy of my mom (who does have her own name: Laura Goodnough Jones), a giveaway of some super cool handmade artists’ beads! I am throwing in some glass beads (not handmade, but very cool), plus a “Handmade for You” cling rubber stamp and a top secret handmade goody.

All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment here on this post before Sunday August 12th 11pm EST. If you want an idea of something to comment on, you could check out my mom’s website here and leave a comment about her art (favorite piece, feeling you get from her work, etc).

For a 2nd bonus entry, like my Facebook page or favorite my Etsy shop, then leave a comment saying which of those things you did (or both!). (If you have already done both of those things, just let me know.)

  2. I have favorited your Etsy shop and oh my but you have lovely things in there. I can see a shopping spree in my future. Thank you for the additional chance to win!

  3. Hello again. I have “liked” your Facebook page for an additional entry, plus it looks really cool and I will enjoy checking it out. So glad to have found your blog and your other social media resources!

  4. I hope I am not too late to enter, I JUST found out about this giveaway and I would LOVE to be able to participate! Your Mom’s site is lovely and reminds me of a class I recently took with Diane Reavely of Ranger. I love your Mom’s book, both closed and open, because it has that feel to it. I hope someday to be able to take a class with your Mom because she is a very talented artist! Thank you for the introduction to her work.

  6. I checked out your Mom’s website – what a talented lady she is!! I love the birds!
    Does she have a blog??

  7. Done, done, and done. I love the textured beads. It would be great to see them as fringe on a handbag! (I used to sell my handbags on my own Etsy store, but have taken time off to write a novel!) Good luck with all of your ventures!

  8. Hi, I checked out your mom’s website…lucky you, to have such a creative and talented mom, she has a wonderful sense of color and shape. :). I checked out your Etsy shop and favorited it…nice embroidery work.:) I was looking at a bracelet, but I think it might have the wrong title because it says it is a playmat with a squirrel, but the photo and description is for a bracelet.

    • Thanks! I love her use of color, too. 🙂 Ha, ha, thanks for catching that squirrel/bracelet mishap! I think something funky happened when I used the Etsy on Sale App last month. Just fixed it.

      • Your welcome…squirrels and I have a love/hate relationship…well actually just hate. I’ll have to write a post about that. 🙂
