Eat, Drink, & Be Married

Today is my sister’s wedding day. (Actually, this post is scheduled, so right this very minute my sister’s wedding is beginning.) Last night was a lovely rehearsal dinner and we received a sneak peek at how gorgeous my sister and her helpers decorated the wedding venue. It is in a beautiful old barn, which she decorated with buntings and glass jar floral arrangements, and other sweet touches. There is a stunning flower garden we (the bridesmaids) and my sister walk down, to greet the groom and groomsmen, who are waiting on the other side of a white picket fence (also decorated with buntings). My sister thought of all details and it shows. No doubt the evening will be magical and memorable, and I wish my sister and her new husband tremendous love and happiness in their life together.

I made them a couple little things to go with the big gift, one of which is this wall hanging:

My sister asked me to do a reading during the ceremony, so I will end this post with the poem by ee cummings that I will be reading.

i carry your heart with me
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)

(Lots of love to you, my sis, now and always.)
