Today was my sister’s bridal shower. She and I are total Anglophiles and love everything British: British tv, British sayings, British food, etc. So when she said she hoped her shower was in the theme of “Keep Calm & Marry On”, I happily obliged. First up, after the invites which I wrote about before, I designed some fabric that I could turn into buntings, wall hangings, table runners, and mug rugs. I drew it and then had Spoonflower print it on Kona quilter’s weight cotton. In case you want to buy some for yourself, you can purchase it here. It is four different fat quarters in one yard.
A friend and fellow bridesmaid helped with the floral arrangements and favors (my Mom also helped with the sewing kit jar favors). We used tea tins as “vases” and purple silk flowers.
There were large arrangements for the tables, then mini ones for every guest to take home.
The sewing kits were really easy to make (I’ll post steps and pictures soon). Inside each one were pins (straight and safety pins), a needle, thread, buttons, etc. In the top of each pincushion on the jar were lovely heart straight pins.
For my niece and anyone else who wanted to, I had these lovely teacup notecards for coloring. They were a free printable Creature Comforts’ blog from that I printed on cardstock.
In part 2 I will post recipes, free printables, more pictures, and the fun games we played!
