Embroidery: Valentine Super Heroes

(This is a post from my old blog that I am reposting here in case you missed it! Plus these Valentine Super Heroes are Super Cute!)Valentine Super Hero Embroidery
I was recently a test embroiderer for Imagine Gnats’ new Valentine themed embroidery patterns. It was a great excuse to do some super cute stitching! Rachael, the creative  genius behind imagine gnats, makes some really cute illustrations and sewn goodies and decided to start doing embroidery patterns, hence the need for testers. There were two: Valentine Super Hero Girl and Valentine Super Hero Boy. The patterns were very easy to follow, with good stitch suggestions, color photo of the finished project, and a lovely pattern. For the girl, I followed all of her stitch directions except for the stem stitch. I can’t even begin to figure out why but the stem stitch and I don’t get along. Never have and probably never will. It always looks terrible when I do it. I didn’t have all the colors called for, so I just used colors I had that were close to the directions. (Except I made her a brunette instead of a blonde. I’m a brunette, so I almost always do brown hair. Sorry, blondes.)
The boy was also a super cute pattern and I was going to follow it exactly, too, except then I saw some of the other testers were trying their own thing a bit. So… since I wanted to make it for my son’s room, I changed some things up (Rachael’s boy pattern has very cute skull hearts for the boy design, but I didn’t want skulls for my little guy’s room). I am very happy with both of the designs!Want your own? You can buy the patterns from imagine gnats’ etsy shop.Update: I finished these off and made them hang ready by adding washi tape to the edges of the embroidery hoops. My lovely younger sister gave me three luscious rolls for Christmas, and I love using it on my embroidery hoops to turn them into “frames.”Super Hero Boy  Super Hero Girl
