Making Moss

Here’s a non-edible recipe for you for… moss! Yes, moss, like the stuff that grows on rocks. I really want some lush moss for the Fairy Garden, so I tried this crazy recipe my spouse found.

Here’s the link to the recipe, and here’s what you do:

1 cup Plain Yogurt & 1-2 Tbsp Moss

Yogurt and Moss
Mix them both up in a blender until it is back to yogurt consistency. It will get kind of frothy and smell even worse than regular yogurt smells. Or maybe I am the only one who can’t stand the smell of yogurt. You could tell people who come in your kitchen and ask what you are doing that you are making a new kind of protein shake. Don’t let anyone actually eat it. When they look revolted, explain the truth (“I’m making moss yogurt to paint on rocks and stuff” actually sounds way weirder than protein shake).

Then put it in a bowl, grab a brush, and go to town painting the mixture on wherever you want moss to grow. Mind you, I am not yet sure this will actually work, but I figure it is worth a try. I’ll keep you updated on the results, in case you decide you want to make moss, too.
